We are just back from what was a delightful stay at Cameron House, Loch Lomond. Cameron House is a 5 star luxury hotel, set in the most beautiful of surroundings overlooking Loch Lomond.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing break away, a spa weekend, or a weekend indulging in fabulous food, drink and service, then this hotel is for you.
The drive up to the main entrance to the hotel is stunning, this is the first peek that you get of both the hotel and the loch. The grounds are lovely, and you can even play giant chess outdoors if the rain stays away.
Once the valet had parked our car, and our bags were brought to our room, we kicked off our shoes and lay on the bed (isn’t that the first thing that you always do when arriving in a hotel room?). Straight away we knew that this bed was going to give us a well rested night’s sleep – and that it did. The quality of everything in this hotel is of the highest standard. The furniture, the bathroom, towels, robes, slippers, toiletries, refreshments – all just perfect.
The view from our hotel room was outstanding – right across the loch, where we would watch the sea plane taking off, the boat trips and even some people on jet bikes. Just walking round the grounds allows you to take everything in, and on a fresh weekend like we had, we got to enjoy a bit of the outdoors without worrying too much about wrapping up warm.
During our stay the dinner and breakfast were both very enjoyable, and we spent a bit of time in the Whisky Bar which was cosy and relaxing. There are outside tables with firebowls and blankets which allows you to enjoy the freshness of being outdoors for that little bit longer into the evening.
Our stay was a fleeting one so unfortunately we didn’t get to try out the pool and spa facilities – which is a great incentive for us to return to do so!
Cameron House is a hotel that we have wanted to visit for a long time but have never had the opportunity to do so before. We were invited to join some friends who were up from Southampton for the weekend, and we are so glad that we did. Great hotel, great setting, and our friends were such great company. Really can’t recommend a stay here enough.
